Updated: I'm updating this post for the paint project for the CSI Project. I'm looking forward to their challenges and everything they share.

Look what I made! This was inspired by a tin I saw at Hobby Lobby, but could never catch on sale. So I decided to make my own. I found an old coffee tin and spray painted it white. It took several coats of the spray paint to cover the color of the tin. Then I used my Slice to cut letters out of adhesive backed vinyl. And voila! I now have a new cute container to hold the cooking utensils I like keeping on the counter. The tin was free and the can of spray paint cost about $3.80 at Lowe's. So my crafter friends, what have you been making lately? I'd love to see your projects so please share.

Can you believe it?

I actually scrapbooked. I've had this page in some stage of completion for the past 2 weeks.  I know...I'm the queen of unfinished projects. It's terrible really, but I shall not let myself stress about it.

This page is of our niece whose birthday is December 23rd. She's a trooper about it though. Hubby's family always ends up getting together for Christmas on her birthday for some reason so we always celebrate her birthday and of course there is always cake. These photos span 4 years. The color in the photo of the layout seems to be off a bit with the background surrounding the photos. It really is a red that's closer to the polka dotted felt of the cupcake top.

And did you realize it was World Cardmaking Day? I didn't either until I kept seeing it on a bunch of blogs. Luckily I had already planned to make some cards anyway. This first one is a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 square. I love how simple it is. And the last one is ultra simple as well. I just stamped the reindeer in pigment ink and heat embossed. I sponged the background with a blue ink then just added some ribbon. Thanks for looking!

Some Stamping

Just sharing a couple of cards and a marble magent. We'll be making these in a couple of my workshops this next week. All supplies (except for the marbles) are from Stampin' Up.

Paper and Glue and so much more.

We've had a fairly restful weekend. School starts back tomorrow and although I'm looking forward to a routine for the kiddo I can't say I'm looking forward to getting up with the sun tomorrow.  The first part of the summer I get up really early and usually go walk before hubby goes to work, but the last few weeks of summer I end up sleeping in for some reason. Maybe to just enjoy it before I have to start getting up early again.  Fortunately we did manage to get Squirt in bed before 8:30 p.m. Let's hope he's not too ornery at 6 a.m. tomorrow.

Now about the paper and glue. Just thought I'd share the papercrafting stuff I worked on this weekend. And a new camera strap that's now in my Etsy shop.  I'll be putting more camera straps in this week with embroidered names! I've also put a perpetual birthday calendar and some glass magnets I made with patterned paper in my Etsy shop also.

I finally scrapped this older photo. I've got to dig back through old photo disks to figure out when it was taken, but I'm glad I finally scrapped it.

Stampin' Up Cards

Just thought I'd share a couple of cards with you. This Trendy Tree set in this first one  from Stampin' Up is becoming one of my favorite sets. I'll probably be making a few more cards similar to this one. Change the wording up on it and it works for so many different occassions.

 

Papercrafting

I love when I can finally start a project and then get on a roll. I made this little mini album as a gift last night. Super simple. I just printed the photos I wanted to use, cut chipboard to 4x6 & covered with paper. This little album will be traveling quite a bit so I wanted it to have a bit of protection. I adhered the photos back to back and put them between the covers to make a little book that I bound with the bind-it-all. The photos are a mix of vertical and horizontal photos.

 

 

 

I have a Stampin' Up workshop in a few days and needed to come up with projects for it. So after my high of making the little mini album last night I pulled out my supplies this morning and got to work.

I used the Lovely As a Tree set with watercolor wonder crayons on this card. I colored with the crayons directly onto the stamp and then spritzed with a water bottle then stamped to get the watercolor look.

 

I wanted to use the watercolor wonder crayons again on this 6x6 page. Since summer has arrived here in the south I decided to think cooler thoughts with a Christmas page. I stamped the tree with staz-on ink and then used blender pens and the crayons to color it. The brown piece is a mat for a photo. I only adhered the red ribbon on the back of the brown to be able to slide a photo under it.

These are the projects my hostess clubs have done or will be doing this month. The first one is a 6x6 mini scrapbook page. It's hard to see in the photo, but the yellow piece on the bottom is dry embossed.  Eventually a photo will go over the middle kraft colored area and will have a tangerine mat peeking from behind it. I have to thank Katie for the inspiration for this one and the tree card to follow.

I'm really loving this new set with these little trees.

And this last one is a corner bookmark made using a new set from the occassions mini catalog and the new scallop oval punch.
