You might ask what location to choose. First I would recommend your home and areas around your home like your neighborhood or a local park. Even if you think your home wouldn't be a great place seriously consider it. Especially with children, this is the environment where they feel most comfortable. Your home will also add such interest to your photos simply because it is your home. Some of the most beautiful photos I've seen were taken at the subject's home.
