The Civil Wars. Yes, it's considered folk music. A modern folk music. I'm sure this will surprise some who know me that I can't get enough of their music. Surprising people is so rewarding.
Their songs are on repeat in my iTunes a majority of the time the past couple of months. I have to think my grandfather would be quite pleased with his oldest grandchild finding her love of folk music. (Random tidbit, he would have been 92 years old today.Think there might be a post coming about my connection to my Pawpa soon.)
This song "Poison and Wine"? Not sure I have words for it. Brilliant is an understatement.
I love their music & this video is amazing! Seriously powerful lyrics...

I love The Civil Wars! If you want some folksy hymns at some point, check out Ordinary Time. They are often coupled in my playlists with The Civil Wars.

Arent they incredible? They are supposed to be in Nashville the first week of May and I am so tempted to plan a trip so I can see them. They were in Waverly of all places last week but I didnt find out about it in time to find a babysitter. Hope you are doing well! -- Amy
